Let me introduce you to Isabella

This was Isabella's first birthday cake. I was so excited because it was my first time working with fondant. I was planning on making her one every year, I am still planning on doing that.

This is Isabella playing with her plastic grapes during her birthday party. I miss those beautiful eyes.

This is Isabella in her monkey pajamas. She was sitting in her bumbo chair. I am sorry that the picture is sideways. I am not computer savvy and am surprised that I was able to upload the pictures at all.

This is my little monkey in her high chair while I was feeding her cereal. Breakfast is her favourite meal. She loves her food, just like her mommy!

This is Isabella playing on Mommy's bed, which she loves to do. If you look carefully you could see her harness that she was wearing because of her hip dysplasia. We spent so much time cuddling on mommy's bed. I miss that!

I though that it was time for me to share my Isabella with you. I wanted you all to see the little princess that stole my heart, taught me how to live for the moment and showed me the meaning of unconditional love.

I am so proud that she calls me mommy!

I love her sooo much. I have the photo of Bella eating breakfast displayed in our family room. It's just one of many that we admire each day. She is an incredible child and you and Frank are incredible parents.

Brilliant cake - have a great cake book recommendation for you. I bought it when Catherine was 2, and she chose her 3rd birthday cake from it. She really enjoyed the excitement of choosing it... Like you, I thought we would be working our way through the book as she got older. It's by Anne Rigg and called Birthday Cakes for Children. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Birthday-Cakes-Kids-Annie-Rigg/dp/1845978323

I didn't manage to make a b'day cake for her b'day last year - too hard. I think it would be lovely if you can manage it, but don't beat yourself up if it's all too much. The important thing is we loved them completely, and we continue to honour and remember them always.

Brilliant pics of Bonnie Bella, as always xx

ps I was reading your info on Strep A and never realized before that its also called scarlet fever. I had that when I was I think 4 or 5. All I remember was being quarantined in the hopsital and getting a big stuffed monkey

Thank you everyone for your comments. She was definately a little monkey.

Susan, I will check that book out for sure. I had so much fun making that cake and will hopefully continue to make them in the future.

I enjoyed showing you all pictures of Isabella and will upload some more recent ones soon.

What a pleasant surprise to see so many gorgeous pictures of Isabella posted today. I'm proud of you as I'm sure that wasn't easy.

That's our girl. Just a beauty inside and out. I thinks it's a lovely idea for you to make a special cake for her birthday as well as sending balloons up to heaven telling her how much we love and miss her.

Keep posting pictures !!

Love you always,

Angie

I looked again at the photos you posted and it made me smile when I noticed her holding on to a bunch of socks, sitting in her bumbo. We know how much Bella loved her socks.

What an awesome entry. The pictures are great and can't wait to see many more. Now those people who didn't know her got a chance to know her a little more. I agree that making her a birthday cake is a fantastic idea. I start everymorning kissing the picture that I have of her on my refrigerator.

Love always,
Mary
